Know More about Soccer and its Rules before Play Time

Are you aware that the planet has an estimated 3.5 billion soccer fans? That’s about half the population as a whole! More people than any other sport watch soccer and its success shows no signs of fading. Actually, in the years to come, the number of fans is expected to increase. In the United States, not only is soccer finally entering the mainstream, but it is also becoming more common in other areas.

As the planet’s most popular spectator sport, it’s no wonder that soccer draws a lot of interest in betting. There are many judi bola terpercaya sites where a large number of soccer fans enjoy putting their expertise to the test. Some of these fans are what we call recreational bettors, and mainly as a means of entertainment, they bet on soccer. Others are encouraged by the ability to make cash, and they take things a lot more seriously.

Rules

  • A game consists of two halves of 45 minutes and a rest time of 15 minutes in between.
  • Each team can have a minimum of 11 players (including 1 goalkeeper who is the only player permitted inside the 18-yard box to handle the ball) and a minimum of 7 players are required to play a match.
  • The field must be made of grass that is either artificial or natural. Pitch sizes can vary, but they must be 100-130 yards long and 50-100 yards high. A rectangular form around the perimeter, indicating out of bounds, two six-yard boxes, two 18 yard boxes and a middle circle, must also be marked on the pitch. A position must also be clear for a penalty placed 12 yards from both goals and the center circle.
  • The diameter of the ball must be 58-61cm and it must be circular.
  • Up to 7 replacement players may be selected by any squad. With each team being allowed to make a maximum of 3 substitutions per side. The team would be obligated to play without a replacement for that player in the event of all three replacements being made and a player needs to leave the field for injury.
  • One referee and two assistant referees must be part of each game (linesmen). The referee must serve as a timekeeper and make any decisions when necessary.
  • As a consequence of the quality of both teams in a match, if the game has to go to extra time, then 30 minutes in the form of two 15-minute halves will be added after the scheduled 90 minutes.
  • If teams are still equal after extra time, a penalty shootout must take place.
  • For it to constitute a goal, the entire ball must cross the goal line.
  • In one of the sidelines, if a ball goes out of playoff with an opponent, it is offered as a throw-in. If an attacking player on the baseline goes out of play, then it is a goal kick. It is a corner kick if it comes off a defending player.
