Scuba diving is all about fun and adventure, connecting with nature. As a beginner to this adventure, it is important to gain some basic knowledge regarding certification.

What is a scuba diving certification?

It is obvious that immersing in the depth of seawater involves some degree of risk. The right use of safety gear, diving skills, navigation knowledge and many other factors matter while becoming a professional scuba diver. There is a training course to earn a diving certificate called “C-Card”. Only certified training agencies are authorized to approve whether a person is ready or not. The basic purpose of getting scuba diving lessons is ensuring that an individual is passing minimum level requirements to dive safely. With continuous practice, you can attain high-level grades later. However, this article is all about providing information for  scuba diving enthusiasts to allow them to purchase the right equipment.

  • Wetsuit

After you decide to become a scuba diver, one of the first things you will need is a wetsuit. These are the fancy-looking synthetic suits especially designed to keep your body warm while diving in the depth of the ocean.  Water temperature falls down with every foot as the reachability of sunlight reduces. The suit is made up of stretchable synthetic material perfect for thermal insulation. Some suites can keep your body dry from the inside as well as provide adequate insulation against heat loss.

  1. A buoyancy control device (BCD)

Never compromise with the quality of a buoyancy control device.  Try it practically to make sure that it fits comfortably around chest and back. All pockets must be conveniently accessible when you are in the water. It is equipped with valves and hoses that supply oxygen. Test multiple models before deciding on the perfect one.

  • Scuba mask

It looks similar to a snorkelling mask. The diving mask is designed in a manner to create a safe air space in front of eyes allowing you to look and see clearly below water. As a person goes deeper, the nose pocket helps in equalizing the air pressure. Never forget to keep an anti-fog and lens cleaner solution in your dive bag to maintain adequate visibility.

  • Snorkel

All scuba diving certification agencies prefer snorkel as a primary device for divers because it helps in conserving air in the tank when you are floating on the water surface. Make sure that you are carrying a lightweight device which is easy to carry along with other protective gears.

  • Scuba fins

In scuba diving lessons, optimum utilization of dive fins is taught. While navigating in a dense medium of water, fins help in transferring power from your leg muscles for better movements, speed and control

As a protective measure, it’s a good idea to wear a dive computer. Its sensors will tell you the depth level and alert while exceeding beyond a safety mark.
