What to Expect in North Phoenix in 2020

The new year is almost here and it is time to plan your 2020 calendar! There are always many great events in North Phoenix and the new year will definitely not disappoint with must-attend events for the whole family.

2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open

Located just down the road from Sky Crossing, the annual golf tournament is more like a huge party. The event is held from January 27th to February 2nd at TPC Scottsdale. Not only can you enjoy cheering on your favorite golfers like Tiger Woods and local favorite Phil Mickelson, but you can also enjoy tasty drinks and delicious eats.

After enjoying a day walking from hole to hole, there are concerts in the evenings and plenty of nearby bars prepared to party all night long. If you want to bring the kids, it is best to go during the middle of the day at the beginning of the week. As it gets closer to the weekend, the tournament can get pretty rowdy.

Scottsdale Arts Festival

The annual Scottsdale Arts Festival takes over 2nd street in downtown Scottsdale in March. From March 13th to March 15th you can browse art collections from over 170 artists. The 3-day event is fun for the whole family and complete with live music and entertainment as well as food, drinks, a beer garden and activities for the kids. Phoenix Fan Fusion

Located in downtown Phoenix, the annual event takes place from May 21st to May 24th. Similar to San Diego’s Comic-Con, the comic book world takes over the desert with plenty of fun events. The pop culture festival has all of your favorite characters from your favorite science-fiction movies and comic books. More information on the special guests that will be attending will be available as the time gets closer. Mike from Vagabondsummer.com goes every year and says it is a great event for comic book enthusiasts! It does get pretty warm in Phoenix at the end of May, but luckily the event is mostly indoors. If you can face the heat, there are some fun things to do and see outside of the convention center, like the Batmobile and other vehicles from your favorite movies.

Real Wild and Woody Beer Festival

On July 27th, over 65 participants from across the southwest will gather at this awesome festival. Guests can sip on notable brews from the area inside the Phoenix Convention Center, all while beating the summer heat. Try fresh flavors and seasonal flavors, as there will be plenty of options with over 350 craft beers. Plus, the festival will be complete with plenty of food options, a rock wall, and live music.
